Talksport

What else should we expect from a station which once had Kelvin MacKenzie as its chief executive?
My only disappointment about Carragher's on air outburst is it will have given their viewing figures a massive boost.
In it's reactionary sensationalism Talksport is the Sun of the airwaves and we'd all be better off leaving it well alone.
After hearing of Carragher putting presenter Adrian Durham to the sword I tuned in for the first time and I won't be doing so again.

The lack of understanding of Carragher's situation with England was telling and some of the comments made by presenters Durham, Gary Stevens and Jason Cundy were so wide of the mark at times I thought I was listening to a wind up.
Cundy told listeners he couldn't understand why Liverpool supporters were getting so hot under the collar as he could remember a time when we actually booed Carragher at Anfield.
Go on then Jason, name that time. I've only missed a single Liverpool home game since 1987 so unless it was that one you're hopelessly wrong.
Admittedly, there was a time when Carragher was not as appreciated by the Anfield crowd as he should have been and I can recall the groans from sections of the crows when he lost possession or failed to cross the halfway line.
But he was never, ever booed.
The Ingerlund mob got in on the act then, calling in by the score to vent their spleen about what a disgrace it is that people from this part of the world do not care about their country.
Sorry to disappoint you boys but that ship sailed a long time ago.
One of the few things that unite the majority of Liverpudlians and the majority of Evertonians is that we do not feel particularly English and we certainly do not identify with the national team.
Come to think of it, there are a fair number of Man United fans who feel the same way so maybe it comes down to the fact that most people in the North West have long since come to the conclusion that the national team is a London thing.
How they would have come to that conclusion is anyone's guess. Anyone would think England only play outside the capital when Wembley is unavailable or something.

I think any radio station which has its VIEWING figures increased would be very surprised indeed! And I'm sure all the other listeners to your fine blog would agree ....
